AVICHI is the sole vision of black metal multi-instrumentalist Andrew Markuszewski (aka Aamonael), who was an initial member of notorious U.S. black metal act Nachtmystium and once again a now ex-member of Nachtmystium respectively as Markuszewski has made several appearances in-and-out of Nachtmystium’s existence. It is also important to note that Markuszewski also is one of the main musicians and driving forces in his other band, namely the blackened doom metal abomination, and the latest addition to the Profound Lore roster, namely LORD MANTIS.
But AVICHI is Markuszewski’s sole outlet, with no interference from anyone else whatsoever, to show that he is one of America’s most obsessive visionaries in its black metal scene. Forming in 2006 and releasing the debut album “The Divine Tragedy” only showed promise at what AVICHI had to offer. But it wasn’t until AVICHI’s Profound Lore debut, “The Devil’s Fractal” where awareness would build even more. And this awareness which will go that much further with the new AVICHI album “Catharsis Absolute” in solidifying AVICHI as one of the premiere U.S. black metal bands today.
“Catharsis Absolute” sees AVICHI create a wholly new expression of virulent yet enlightening sophisticated black metal and sees Markuszewski create his most accomplished musical work to date.
